Associate Professor at the UNLP and director of the Translation Studies Research Laboratory (LIT). Sworn French/Spanish translator and specialist in neology.
Ana María Gentile holds a PhD in Language Sciences (University of Rouen, France, 2007). She is a tenured Full Professor at the Universidad Nacional de La Plata, Argentina, and has worked as a freelance sworn French/Spanish translator since 1985. She directs the Translation Studies Research Laboratory (LIT/IdIHCS/CONICET-UNLP) and the projects based there. She has been invited to give postgraduate seminars and lectures at the Universities of Angers, Paris-Diderot and Grenoble, as well as at the ENS de Lyon and the ISIT in Paris. She teaches on the master’s programme in Translation Studies at the Universidad Nacional de Córdoba, Argentina, and on the master’s programme in Translation and Interpreting at the University of Buenos Aires. She has authored numerous conference papers in the field, as well as book chapters and articles in international journals (including Neologica, Arena Romanistica and Hermeneus) and edited volumes. In publishing, she is editor-in-chief of the international journal Synergies Argentine.
