PhD candidate in Languages and Cultures and teacher of Careers Guidance and Employment Law. His research deals with legal translation and language for specific purposes, focusing on the subject-matter competence of the legal translator.
José Antonio Ruiz Sánchez holds a Law degree and a degree in Translation and Interpreting from the University of Córdoba, graduating from the latter with the Extraordinary Degree Award. He completed a master’s degree in Secondary Teacher Training and currently teaches Careers Guidance and Employment Law for the Regional Government of Andalusia.
He is a PhD candidate on the Languages and Cultures programme at the University of Córdoba, where his work centres on the subject-matter competence of the legal translator.
His main line of research is legal translation and language for specific purposes.
He takes part in the group’s projects on tourism discourse and specialised terminology, such as that of jewellery.
