Esther Rupérez Pérez holds a PhD in Linguistic Studies in their Sociocultural Contexts from the University of Las Palmas de Gran Canaria. Her doctoral thesis examined inference as a persuasive strategy in advertising discourse from a contrastive Spanish–French–English perspective. She graduated in Translation and Interpreting and went on to complete a Spanish–French master’s degree in Applied French Language, as well as a postgraduate qualification in Cultural Management. She has held placements in the Communication Department of the Institut français in Madrid and at the Cultural Office of the Spanish Embassy in Belgium. She currently teaches translation part-time at the ULPGC and works as a freelance translator and interpreter.
